Filipino Civil Engineers Towards Global Recognition
FROM THE PRESIDENT

Today, we are going to forget that April 1 is Fools’ Day. Today is PICE-Bahrain First Quarter General Membership Assembly and it’s no joke!

April 1 for PICE-Bahrain Chapter is a day to celebrate success and amity among us all PICE members, PICE members’ families and friends. Today is the time to express our gratitude to everyone’s contribution to the successes of PICE-Bahrain Chapter and to welcome new members of the organization as we enjoy each other’s’ presence and company,

Today, I would like to personally congratulate everyone, especially the members of the Board of Directors (BOD) for its unconditional commitment to realize the organization’s objectives. The BOD’s concerted efforts had made it possible to start the SPLBE on time, held knowledge sharing/trainings, joined sports fests and won, to facilitate renewal of PRC licenses and application for affiliation with the Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE). All these were achieved, all because of the team work and zeal for service of the BODs. Kudos and thank you everyone!

…. and welcome to one of our big days…
The 2016 First Quarter General Assembly!

MEMBERSHIP

The Committee on Membership …is proud to report that from year 2011 to first quarter of 2016, PICE-Bahrain membership continuously grows. From 47 members including the 23 petitioners in 2011, then, a gradual increase of 33, 45, 55, 35 in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 respectively and 9 new members for this year 2016. So a total of 224 registered PICE-Bahrain members.

PiCE-Bahrain membership comprises, 74% Regular members, 4% Life Members, 19% Associate Members and the remaining 3% uncategorized.

The total population of civil engineers in Bahrain is huge, out of this huge population, only 224 civil engineers are member of this organization. Though small, the Board of Directors is faced with this big challenge on how to manage, serve and encourage members to have continuous participation, involvement and support to Chapter’s programs and activities that may be offered or may be required to keep PICE-Bahrain standing and waving its colors if not soaring high.

The biggest challenge is out of 224 registered members, only 72% is active and rests have to be worked out by the Board. Record shows that the 72% active members’ file has to be updated too. We have reviewed our records and we found out that only 13% have a valid or up dated PRC ID.

One of our goals is to help members renew their licenses via the Committee on Professional Affairs and Committee on Membership. We have already posted in our website, FB account and even emailed all members to signify their intention to renew PRC ID so we can facilitate the renewal thru our vacationing members of the BOD. To have this goal realized, we have created a link on our PICE website where we can down load the renewal and the authorization forms.

To update personal information, simply go to www.picebahrain.org, click “Membership” tab and select “Info-Update”, fill up and submit, all data will be collected and be monitored for our Master List.
For expired PRC License assistance, forms and guidelines are also available on our website, please go to www.picebahrain.org, click “Membership” tab and select “Renewal of Professional ID”.
